Amanda Martin

Amanda Martin is determined to make her mark in the world. At fifteen years old, she has already proven herself as a performer, athlete and entrepreneur.

Amanda is also an artist and guitar player. She successfully merged those two passions in the early spring of 2004 when she made herself a necklace and earrings out of guitar picks. Soon, Amanda's friends were requesting their own guitar pick jewelry. Then, while shopping at her favorite boutique, Amanda was approached by the store's owner as to where she purchased her guitar pick jewelry. Amanda revealed that she had made it herself. Right then and there she made a deal to sell the jewelry, which went on to become 2004's best-selling item in that store.

Since then, Amanda has christened her fledgling business, Pick Me, with the express goal of donating the majority of her profits to charities. With over 3000 guitar pick necklaces and earrings sold to date at various local boutiques Amanda has donated over five thousand dollars in cash and jewelry to various charities including UNICEF. At school, Amanda organized and funded a Campaign Against Tobacco (C.A.T. Week), which has become an annual event.
